These opportunities are designed to assist professional staff by providing new and exciting information important to Tech Prep programs, curriculum and student learning.

This workshop is now filled to capacity.
Course of Study

Work with colleagues to develop the Career Field Technical Content Course of Study for your Tech Prep program. You will be provided with practical assistance and electronic templates to facilitate the development of your course of study.  New program instructors are expected to have an approved course of study for their Tech Prep program and should attend this valuable workshop.  Participants should bring with them: School philosophy, grading policy and scale, primary text and materials.

Target Audience: Tech Prep instructors developing or updating their Course of Study.

Workshop includes:
     Graduate credit pending through Ashland College (2 hours).
     $350.00 Stipend
     Lunch each day

Inquiry-Based Learning

I
nquiry-based instruction is an instructional strategy designed to involve student in real-world type business and industry problems.  The students are guided by the instructor to search for answers and solutions to problems and work cooperatively in teams.  Most instructors are used to using projects within their classes. Inquiry-based instruction is designed to get the students deeper into the curriculum with real-world problems: the challenge for teachers is the instructional management of the process.  This workshop will show teachers how to design the inquiry-based project and manage the class during the project.  Resources and ideas will be provided to teachers.

Target Audience: Tech Prep instructors

Workshop includes:
     Ashland College credit pending
     $30.00 stipend
     Lunch

Tech Prep Academy Hybrid on-Line Academy     

The Academy provides an introduction to the Tech Prep curriculum process and instructional strategies.  It is designed to assist new instructors or tech prep teams in understanding Tech Prep philosophy and structure.  This is a minimum recommendation for all new Tech Prep teachers! 

Target Audience: Instructors new to Tech Prep and those who have never taken the Academy 

  • Tech Prep will pay registration fee of $75 (includes one day meeting, instructor support for on-line course, one year access to on-line course materials)
  • $150 stipend
  • Register on line at www.techprepohio.org/academy  

NOTE:  Please notify the Tech Prep office so that the registration fee and stipend can be paid. 

**The Ohio Department of Education, Office and Career-Technical Education and the Ohio Board of Regents jointly sponsor the Tech Prep Academy through Tech Prep Technical Services.  Blackboard Server and Technical Support provided by Auburn Career Center.
